New Life Care
What is New Life Care?
It’s sharing the love of God in a practical way, by cutting grass, hedge trimming, decorating and other tasks.

Why do you do it?
When I got involved it was something Family Church were already doing. I felt God leading me to help in this area. I started by helping out on Saturdays and when the team leader gave up I was asked to take his place, and I said yes.
How does God work through this?
Through our actions in meeting practical needs and building relationships with our customers. All our care customers get a copy of LivingIt and get invited to church events, such as our Christmas Special and our birthday celebrations. These always get a good turnout.
Who do you serve?
Mainly older people, but anyone who is unable to do the tasks themselves.
Do people think you charge?
Yes, this happens quite a lot. It’s a free service, but most people make a donation. It’s not compulsory though.

Where do donations go?
To our childrens homes in Rwanda.
What success stories are there?
I’m sure our customers would say we make a difference to their lives. On the whole they are very appreciative of what we do. You can always rely on certain customers for tea and biscuits. One lady always bakes us a cake for the last grass cut of the season. Another lady came to church as a result of our team helping her to move house. She was young but had a physical disability and we cut her grass. She not only found faith in God, but I ended up marrying her!
